Haverhill Schools Initiative (HSI) is a charity in connection to Youth For Christ (YFC). Our aim is to bring a live Christian perspective in the schools of Haverhill and Clare.
What is HSI
HSI started in 1995, with the objective of 'providing a live Christian perspective in the Schools of Haverhill and Clare'. Through paid workers and volunteers we engage with local schools, supporting their assemblies and religious education and any other ways the schools can use us. In doing so, our aims are to further the development of pupils- their spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth-and open their minds to Christian ways of thinking and living.
How HSI is run...
HSI is run by an Executive Committee which meets monthly. They are backed up by a Council of Reference, made up of Church leaders and other mature Christians, to provide stability, support and spiritual oversight, as well as being a reference point for enquirers.We see HSI as an arm of the local churches, equipped to carry out a particular role in the community.
How does HSI run financially?
HSI is run by donations from individuals, local businesses, churches and local councils, as an investment in the young people of our locality.
